Animation: Kiwi!

Posted on March 22, 2009June 8, 2025 by VoxParadox

This short animated film was made by Dony Permedi, a student at The School of Visual Arts, MFA Computer Art, in New York City in 2006. It was his Masters thesis animation.

Created using Maya, After Effects, and rigged using The Setup Machine by Anzovin studios.

This film tells the tale of a kiwi (a flightless bird), who dreams of flying one day. Kiwi spends his entire life nailing trees to the side of a cliff. He does this to create an illusion…one that will make his dream come true!

Beautifully simple and inspiring, this film makes you wonder if it is really impossible to achieve anything.

If you have not watched it already, you should certainly do so now.
