En Tus Brazos (In Your Arms) is a French-made Spanish animation movie, made in 2005, about how nothing can stop a tango dancing couple … not even fate. Cherish this one!
En Tus Brazos (In Your Arms) is a wonderful animation short film directed by François-Xavier Goby, Edouard Jouret and Matthieu Landour in 2005.

Presented on festivals in San Diego (Siggraph 2007, Award of Excellence), Annecy (France), Argentina (Mar del Plata), Poland (ReAnimacja), Auch (France), Miami (Romance), Spain (Animac), California (San Diego), Monaco (Imagina), France (Valenciennes), Bristol, Séoul and Paris.
En Tus Brazos is the beautiful story a tango dancing couple, who denied by fate, still refuse to let anything come between their love for each other, and their passion for dance.
Told in the style of old-school romance, this animation short takes you into the life of the greatest tango dancer of the 1920’s, who is stuck in a wheelchair after a tragic accident. Thanks to his wife, he recovers the use of his legs… for one imaginary dance, ending in entreating passionately “Don’t stop, hold me tight!”.

The film abounds with beautiful music, some amazing cinematography, stunning visual effects, creativity, sentiment… and tango.
Music (first part): “En Tus Brazos” by Alfredo de Angelis and Oscar Larroca (vocal). Composition by Carlos Zárate. Lyrics by Elizardo Martínez Vilas (Marvil).
Music (final part): “El Huracán” by Edgardo Donato. Composition by Osvaldo Donato.

Most certainly, one of my favorites. At par with Tomek Baginski’s Fallen Art.
